Disney’s Grace Hopper Conference

For the 2024 Grace Hopper Conference, The Walt Disney Company aims to showcase itself as a genuine tech company that champions the inclusion of women and non-binary individuals in the tech industry. Drawing inspiration from the concept of "tech bento boxes," commonly seen in products from brands like Apple, we blend that modern aesthetic with the playful essence of Disney.

The narrative we want to convey revolves around the transformative journey from experiencing Disney intellectual property to bringing it to life through imagineering, animation, and other technical jobs. Weilin Zhang designed the booth to serve as a focal point for the creative direction of the event, embodying both innovation and whimsy.

Based on the booth design, I developed merchandise items for my role that complemented this vision, reinforcing Disney’s commitment to diversity and creativity in the tech space. I wanted to adhere to the guidelines set and bring that tech magic to life. This endeavor highlights our technological advancements and fosters an inclusive environment where diverse voices can thrive.

Second Step: Designing merchandise for
the event!

Here I have created the rack card and a couple of email banners and zoom backgrounds. I leaned into the pill aspect behind “Tech Minnie” to give each design that playful energy.
